Here is the break down of the class. Some of you are here because you are sincerely interested in learning
about Sociology. Others are here because this class seemed easier than another semester of European or American History,
And sadly, some of you are asking yourselves right now, "What is Sociology?" Regardless of your initials
reason for taking this class you will leave at the end of the semester with knowledge of sociological topics, an understanding
of the ideas of major sociologist like Marx and Weber, and respect for the idea that Sociology is a "real" science (despite
what anyone else says).

Don't forget to talk to your parents about your deviance assignment. Make sure to explain the project so it doesn't
sound like I'm just having you run out and upset people on the street. Test your knowledge by seeing how well you can explain
what we're studying.
